Women's Entrepreneurship Center
The University's Women’s Entrepreneurship Center (WEC) is a program of the Kania School of Management (KSOM).
WEC student interns and staff offer business start-up information, guidance, and encouragement to low-income women, those in transition or those trying to make a better life for themselves and their families.
They do this by offering programs such as Coffee & Confidence – a 1-hour inspiration session and StartUP, a 6-week series that walks participants through the process of starting a business.
StartUP Series
One Program, Two Great Options: Now you have a choice between two different options for participating in StartUP.
A six-week interactive learning series where participants learn through live sessions (currently held on Zoom) and meets weekly. Engage with fellow participants, ask questions, and receive real-time answers from expert SBDC consultants. This program is for those in the ‘idea phase’ or those who have just started working on their business but are not yet operational. Please note that businesses already operating are not eligible. This event is open to everyone interested in learning about entrepreneurship on a non-exclusive basis.

- business start up basics
